Description
James Harren Rumble #1 Variant Cover Original Art (Image, 2014). Rathraq is a violent, no-nonsense warrior god on a mission to reclaim his body and unleash holy hell on those who wronged him. But surely this cute little creature isn't one of the culprits... right? This clash of tone and terror graces the Forbidden Planet / Jetpack Comics variant cover -- where mythic fury meets unexpected adorableness. For the published version, a few tweaks were made to the tiny beast: one arm was shortened, and a fiercer expression was added to give it just a bit more bite. Ink over blue pencil and printed blue line on Bristol board with an image area of 9.5" x 13.5". Art paste-up over small creature, whiteout corrections, screentone, light smudging, marginal ink marks, minor corner creasing, and light handling wear.
