Jackson Guice and Bob Layton - Original Cover Art for Iron Man #237 (Marvel, 1988). In this single-issue yarn, "Star Hunter!", written by David Michelinie, Iron Man journeys back to his A.I.M., virus-infected space station in search of a government satellite-killer. There's just one catch... the satellite-killer is alive! This edge of your seat cover image of Shellhead in the midst of attack, is penciled by Jackson Guice and inked by Bob Layton, the two artists who handled the inside art as well for this issue. The overall page size is 11" x 17" with a 10" x 15" image area. The art is very clean and bright with very little aging apparent. There is also a very slight stain at the top, in the area where the original logo stat paste-up used to sit. The original logo paste-up is missing. Signed by Jackson Guice at the bottom left.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
