Description

Jack Sparling House of Secrets #78 Eclipso Cover Original Art (DC, 1966). Eclipso swells into a hulking monstrosity at Stonehenge as an eclipse crowns the sky, a striking twist on DC's Silver Age Jekyll-and-Hyde figure. First appearing in House of Secrets #61, the feature followed scientist Bruce Gordon -- named as a playful nod to Bruce Wayne and Commissioner Gordon -- as he struggled to live a normal life while being transformed into the supervillain whenever an eclipse struck. This cover and story up the ante, revealing a rare turn in which Eclipso himself mutates into something even more bizarre. With Mark Merlin mysteries dominating the magazine's covers early on, Eclipso didn't get his first until issue #66. That makes this just his sixth of eight cover appearances during the feature's two-year run, before House of Secrets went dark for three years and returned reborn as a full horror anthology with Issue #81.
