DescriptionJack Sparling House of Mystery #205 Grey Tone Cover Original Art (DC, 1972). Here is one of the few DC grey tone covers that Heritage has auctioned to date. DC's grey tone covers have been used on some of the most popular and sought-after comics among collectors today. What an incredible thrill it is to finally see the original base art for one of these beauties! The process was invented by the late Jack Adler, DC's long-time colorist. Here's the base black art, featuring Jack Sparling's painted cover scene. The art, painted on illustration board, has an image area measuring approximately 11" x 15". All the type and logo elements were most likely added to a half-tone photostatic print of the scene. The art is in Excellent condition.
