Jack Kirby Foxhole #5 Unpublished Cover Original Art (Mainline Publications, 1955). This intense war cover was penciled and inked by Jack "King" Kirby for Simon & Kirby's own Mainline Publications, but rejected by the newly formed Comics Code Authority as being too violent, so it (and issue #5 in its entirety) never saw print.
Rendered in ink over graphite on illustration board with a 12.5" x 18.25" image area, the logo and cover header elements are all original stat paste-ups. Some of the paste-ups have discolored, and there is a crack in the board on the bottom right quarter of the cover. The board is lightly tanned, with some handling and edge/corner wear. Overall in Very Good condition and a super-rare Kirby piece!
