Jack Kirby and Mike Royer Sandman #4 Cover Original Art (DC, 1975). In the early to mid-1970s, Jack Kirby was at DC Comics cranking out fantastic and crazy ideas one after the other! He had already created the Fourth World series featuring the New Gods, afterwards he had created the Demon, Omac, and Kamandi. Now it was time for his new take on Sandman. He and partner Joe Simon had worked on the Golden Age Sandman in the 1940s, but this was an all-new, all-different version and allowed Kirby absolute full-reign to create weird characters. The cover was created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Signed in the upper section above the image. There is a modern day acetate overlay with a recreation DC bullet and logo. In Excellent condition.
