Description

Jack Kirby and Joe Sinnott - Fantastic Four #85 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1969). Face front, Marvelites -- here's a fabulous Fantastic Four cover by the highly sought-after team-supreme of Jack "King" Kirby and "Joltin' Joe" Sinnott! Regarded by most fans as Kirby's finest Silver Age inker, Sinnott has commented, "I gave [Kirby's] figures a slickness that superheroes should have. That genre demands a certain slickness." This issue's yarn, "Within This Tortured Land," found the Fantastic Four trapped in Dr. Doom's clutches within a Latverian village, and subjected to brainwashing techniques that recalled themes explored in the cult TV classic, "The Prisoner." The cover spotlights superb portraits of Johnny Storm, the Thing, Reed Richards, and Crystal (filling in for Sue Richards). The art has an image area of 10" x 15" and retains its original title logo and other "blurb" stats. Aside from some mild paper aging and some touches of white-out, the art is in Excellent condition. A copy of the comic book is also included in this lot. Don't miss out on your chance to win this sensational Kirby/Sinnott masterwork!
