Description

Jack Kirby and Joe Simon - Original Cover Art for Champ #23 (Harvey, 1942). Covering a book that features such unforgettable characters as the Twinkle Twins, Dr. Miracle, the Human Meteor and Slim Jim come this outstanding example of Simon and Kirby art, complete with outraged Nazis, a flowing American flag and a tank-full of juvenile gunmen. A piece of history, pencilled and inked by two of the industry's most beloved creators during the middle of World War II. Overall page size is approximately 11.5" x 15.5", matted with white board. The strip along the left edge which features the other characters in the book and the Champ logo are photocopied from the original comic and added to the art to make it appear more like the printed comic. This art is in incredible shape, will some limited use of white out and only the slightest bit of aging.
