Description
Jack Davis Two-Fisted Tales #35 "Special Issue: Civil War!" Cover Original Art (EC, 1953). The range and talent of Jack Davis is astounding. He is better known for his more cartoonish work and celebrity caricatures than his serious art, such as this cover. But you can always tell a Jack Davis piece by the way he draws feet! There is just something about them that is unique. This unique cover is produced in ink with red ink keylines over graphite on Bristol board with a huge image area of 13.5" x 19.5". Almost all paste-up text is a recreation. In fact, the word "Men" on the left side may be the only surviving original paste-up. The page is slightly tanned with some production tape residue and minor handling and wear; otherwise, in Excellent condition.More information about Jack Davis. See also: Davis, Jack, Jack B.
