DescriptionJack Davis Tales From the Crypt #43 Cover Original Art (EC, 1954). Bombs away - Jack Davis' free-falling horror bombshell is sure to send chills up and down your spine - it's the cover to "Four-Way Split" from Tales From the Crypt #43. By the time this EC classic was released, the number of shops offering the latest EC titles was on the wane, as public reaction to the infamous book, Seduction of the Innocent, was taking its toll, leaving news dealers fearful of neighborhood reprisal for carrying such "bad" comics. With this over-the-top shocker by Jack Davis, we can understand why --it's no-punches-pulled pre-Code horror at its eye-popping best. The art is in ink on Bristol board, with an image area of 13.5" x 19.5", and the piece has been matted and framed to an overall size of 20.5" x 27". There is a small closed 2.5" inch closed tear from the left margin through the center of the Old Witch stat, that does little to detract from the overall eye-appeal, especially in a frame; otherwise, the piece is in Very Good condition.
