DescriptionJack Davis MAD #246 Cover Original Art (EC, 1984). As usual, Alfred E. Neuman has his own unique way of doing things, and walking the big top high wire is no exception! At least not in this funny Jack Davis illustration, which served as the cover of the April, 1984 issue of MAD. The art is in graphite and watercolor with acrylics on textured board, with an image area of 17" x 22", double-matted to an overall 24.5" x 29". The figure of Alfred is 10" tall. The art is in Excellent condition. From the MAD Collection.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.View More Testimonials
