Description
Jack Davis Humbug #3 Cover Logo and Border Design Original Art (Humbug, 1957). While the Will Elder image in the center of this cover is actually a halftoned photostat of Elder's painting, the intricate border and logo art is all original art, drawn by Jack Davis! The logo design on the printed cover of issue #3 was different. This Davis drawn logo is similar to the one used on issue #1. This masterpiece of design is in ink on illustration board, and has an image area of 10" x 15"; it has been matted to an overall size of 17" x 21.5". There is a very light glue stain over Davis' logo where the stat of Elder's design was once pasted over (it's included on the reverse side of the board); otherwise, the art is in Excellent condition.More information about Jack Davis.
