House of Horror #1 Cover Painting Frankenstein's Monster Original Art (Warren, 1978). An incredible, and soulful, image of Frankenstein's Monster... it appeared (flipped left-to-right) as the cover for the ultra-rare Warren Publications book, House of Horror. The first (and only) issue of this title was published simply to secure the copyright. As such, only 400 to 500 copies were ever printed! Sadly this cover painting is uncredited. It was used again, however, as the cover for Famous Monsters of Filmland #180 in 1982. The colors are rich and vibrant on this oil on 13" x 20" Masonite board piece. There is some minor chipping on the edges and corners, otherwise in Excellent condition. A super-rare piece of the Forrest J. Ackerman legacy!
