DescriptionHerb Trimpe Monsters on the Prowl #17 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1972). In the original yarn, Boris Petrovski is suspected of democratic tendencies so his brother Ivan demands that he build the largest, strongest, most impressive statue in the world as a symbol of the power and invincibility of their government. Boris hates the totalitarian regime, but builds the statue so he won't be killed. After the statue is built a spaceship crashes outside and a crab-like creature comes out. With telepathy the creature tells Boris that he must take over a larger, stronger body until another spaceship can come save him. He takes over the statue as Ivan and other top officials show up to see the statue, and Herb Trimpe is there to depict the scene in his usual inimitable style. This mighty Marvel "monster-piece" is in Very Good condition, with an image area of 10" x 15".
