Harvey Eisenberg Tom & Jerry Comics #167 Cover Original Art (Dell, 1958). Tom, Jerry, and Tuffy swing into action in this cover illustration for the Tom & Jerry Comics Issue #167. The art was rendered in ink on Bristol board by Harvey Eisenberg (1911 - 1965). Best known for his work with William Hanna and Joseph Barbera at the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer cartoon studio and later at their own Hanna-Barbera Productions, Eisenberg illustrated a large number of comic book stories and comic strips starring characters such as Tom and Jerry, Yogi Bear, and The Flintstones, while also working as an animation layout artist and character designer on the cartoons themselves. This is a gorgeous piece of original art. The board measures 14.5" x 19.25" with an image area of 11" x 15.5. For scale, Tom measures 10.5". Noted on the piece is, "Tom & Jerry #160 Nov. 57 Cover #1". This artwork was actually used on issue #167. Included is a color print of the original cover. Presented in Very Good condition with minor wear.
