Description
Goseki Kojima Weekly Manga Goraku #12 Yagyu Jubei Inside Front Cover Original Art (Nihon Bungeisha, 1971). This inside front cover presents the legendary samurai Yagyū Jūbei, created during the same era Kojima was defining the look and tone of his seminal Lone Wolf and Cub. Jubei's straw hat casts a hard shadow, the sword stays close, and his stare holds steady with quiet menace in this striking image from the second issue of Weekly Manga Goraku, one of Japan's oldest ongoing seinen manga magazines. Created in mixed media on bristol board with an image area of 10.25" x 15.5". Signed by Kojima in the image area. Light handling wear. In Excellent condition.More information about Goseki Kojima.
