Gold Key Artist Lone Ranger #22 Cover Painting Original Art (Gold Key, 1975)....
Description
Gold Key Artist Lone Ranger #22 Cover Painting Original Art (Gold Key, 1975). Tonto is in a bad situation, thankfully the Lone Ranger is on hand to help. This cover was painted in gouache on illustration board with an image area of 12" x 15" and was created for the cover of one of the Lone Ranger comics published by Gold Key. This cover was used for the 1975 issue #22 of Lone Ranger as well as for the approximately 1976 issue #54 of the Librigar Mico Lone Ranger comic anthology published by Editorial Fher in Spain. The Lone Ranger comics started all the way back in 1939 with a few stand-alone stories but officially launched in 1948. It lasted for 145 issues and Tonto got his official spin-off series in 1951. Gold Key Comics would pick up the Lone Ranger series after Dell Comics ended their partnership with Western Publishing with reprints, though they would begin releasing original content in 1975 - the same year this cover was created. The stunning cover marked a new era for Lone Ranger that would continue until 1977 when the magazine folded and is in Very Good condition with with minor edge and handling wear.More information about Gold Key Artist.
