DescriptionGil Kane and Tom Palmer Night Rider #1 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1974). This classic Gil Kane cover proves it's hard to keep a supernatural cowboy down. Marvel's first Western Ghost Rider was based on the ME character created by writer Ray Krank and artist Dick Ayers for Tim Holt #11. With the introduction of Marvel's supernatural motorcyclist Ghost Rider in the seventies, they renamed its Western Ghost Rider -- first, to Night Rider, as seen here, but after it was learned that Night Rider was a term often used in the South to refer to members of the Ku Klux Klan, then the name was changed again -- to Phantom Rider. Be that as it may, this Bronze Age blockbuster has an image area of 10" x 15", and aside from some production process stains, it's in Excellent condition.
