Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1975).The raging, flaming Skull of Vengeance comes racing straight at the viewer in this explosive Bronze Age cover. Gil Kane unleashes pure velocity-Johnny Blaze's demonic alter ego thunders forward on his hell-charged motorcycle, skeletal grin ablaze, fire streaming backward in a trail of supernatural fury.
The composition is all thrust and impact: a dramatic low angle, the massive front wheel dominating the foreground, explosions erupting beneath the tires, and danger descending from the sky. Kane's signature foreshortening and anatomical dynamism give the image relentless momentum, while Tom Palmer's crisp, muscular inks carve the flames, chrome, and smoke into bold graphic clarity.
By the mid-1970s, Ghost Rider embodied Marvel's darker, more rebellious edge-a fusion of horror iconography and superhero spectacle. This cover captures that energy at full throttle: infernal vengeance, raw speed, and high-stakes peril distilled into one unforgettable image. Bronze Age Ghost Rider covers of this caliber are highly coveted, particularly those that showcase the character in dominant, headlong motion.
Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 14.5". The title logo is a paste-up, and three word balloons are missing, leaving visible areas of yellowed glue residue. In Very Good condition.
