Description
Gil Kane and Mike Esposito Defenders #35 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1976). This cover from Steve Gerber's fun (and very weird) run on the title features Chondu the Mystic in his third body of the story arc. (We told you it was weird.) Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 9.75" x 15". The logo and top banner are stat paste-ups. Doctor Strange's word balloons are hand-lettered, and Nighthawk's body is original art paste-ups. The corner box art and Chondu's word balloon are both low-res paste-ups affixed directly to the board. The board is toned, with some glue staining. Signed by the artists in the lower right.
