Description

Gil Kane and John Romita Sr. Conan the Barbarian #59 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1976). Great battle cover as Conan and Belit make a final stand against the Mound-Dwellers. Blood flies and fires burn on this dynamic image. Missing here is the stat with the text "Never before revealed: SONG of the SHE-PIRATE! The awesome ORIGIN of Belit!" Also, the image was altered slightly for the final version: Belit has slightly less hair on the printed comic and Conan, unscathed here, has a few wounds on the final book. Gripping art by Kane and Romita Sr. created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10.5" x 15". Slight toning, stat reproduction logo, header, and text paste-ups, tape abrasions along the top, pinholes in the margins, tears on the right side edge, whiteout corrections, with creasing, light staining, smudging, and edge/handling wear. In Very Good condition.
