DescriptionGil Kane and Frank Giacoia Daredevil #81 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1971). Gil Kane demonstrates that he was at as home on DD as any of the younger innovators that would enter the industry in the years following the Silver Age. Exploiting the dramatic contrast of light and dark, the distance between the drowning Daredevil and the diving Black Widow is played out against the backdrop of a polluted riverbed. Frank Giacoia's superb inks made this Bronze Ager shimmer! The art has an image area of 10" x 15". Note that only the main central image panel is vintage -- everything else -- including the figure of the Black Widow -- is a replacement. The paper was also cut along the top border of the scene box, and later rejoined, and the main scene has been cleaned; otherwise, this piece is in Very Good condition.
