Description

George Pérez and Terry Austin Avengers #168 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1978). Being one of the key titles in the Marvel Universe, The Avengers is almost a series of nothing but high-points. The George Pérez run is definitely one of those, and this issue was also part of the epic "Korvac Saga".
On this cover, the Avengers come crashing into their own HQ only to find... a Bureaucrat? And even worse... Middle Management! This cover ushered in the Avengers new Governmental watchdog... Special Agent Peter Henry Gyrich! The Avengers pictured are: Iron Man, the Beast, Scarlet Witch, Thor, Wonder Man, and the Vision. By the end of the epic "Korvac Saga," two of them would no longer be Avengers.
Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The entire masthead, logo, and all cover text are stat paste-ups. There is glue residue near these paste-ups on the toned board. Signed by the artists next to the UPC box. In Very Good condition.
