Description

Gene Colan and Frank Giacoia Daredevil #41 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1968). In a bid to protect his secret identity, Matt Murdock adopted an additional one... that of his own (fake) twin brother, fun-lovin' Mike Murdock! After keeping up the farce for 15 issues, Matt decided it was time to put Mike on ice. The scarlet spectral Daredevil was impressive on the printed version of this cover, however he looks even better in black and white! Gene Colan was at his best when he was working with shadows, and it shows on this cover created in ink over graphite with whiteout art corrections and highlights on World Color Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The corner box, logo, and all header info are printed paste-ups that have discolored. The "Death of Mike Murdock" caption box is a paste-up. The board was slit around Daredevil's horned head to allow the logo to slip behind it, and also slit to allow the caption box to fit in. There is overall toning, and a staple in the top margin. Overall, the page is in Very Good condition.
