Description

Ed Hannigan The Spectacular Spider-Man #72 Cover Painting Original Art (Marvel, 1982). A memorable cover that looked unlike anything else on the stands at that time! A metallic tentacle bursts through the Spider-Man logo as the wall-crawler is submerged by the arms of Dr. Octo - - no, wait, that is not Doc Ock... that is Ollie Osnick, a bratty rich kid who makes mechanical arms and is influenced by the criminal exploits of Doctor Octopus. Acrylic on board with an image area of 13.5" x 19.5", open-framed to 14" x 20". Some discoloring/staining and surface wear. Signed by Hannigan in the lower right image area and in Very Good condition. Includes two tracing paper preliminaries of the logo/header treatment and a copy of the printed comic signed by Hannigan.
