Description

Ed Hannigan, Kerry Gammill, and Jackson "Butch" Guice Action Comics #691 Cover Original Art (DC, 1993). From the "Reign of the Supermen!" story arc, this cover features Kal-El in his new black suit, as well as the Cyborg-Superman, Steel, and Superboy in the background. (Only the Eradicator of the "new Fab Four" is missing.) This story, "Secret Weapon", was Part 17 of the overall story arc. Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 9.75" x 15". Ed Hannigan supplied the breakdown, Kerry Gammill the finished pencils, and Jackson Guice the inks. There is a handwritten note from Gammill in the margins to Guice that confirms all of this. The logo is a stat paste-up that has been altered to fit the 'Shattered Steel' motif. There is an acetate overlay with much of the cover dressing on it. It is handsomely matted with a copy of the published comic (signed by Gammill in the top edge). Glass-front framed to 30.25" x 24.25". In Excellent condition.
