Description

Don Rosa Startling Comics #49 Cover Re-Imagining Illustration Original Art (undated). Don Rosa puts a Duckburg twist on Alex Schomburg's iconic 1948 airbrushed cover, swapping out the classic sci-fi tropes for feathered fun. The original had it all -- damsel in distress, bondage, towering robot, retro-futuristic vibes -- and Rosa keeps the spirit alive with Gyro Gearloose stepping in for space hero Lance Lewis, while Little Helper goes haywire, clutching a wide-eyed Daisy Duck. The vibrant colors and vintage flair make this playful homage pop, and it remains a fan-favorite print that Rosa offers alongside his other classics at conventions. Marker, ink, and white paint over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 9.75" x 13.5". Signed by Rosa in the lower left image area and in the lower right margin. In Excellent condition.
