Don Martin MAD's Maddest Artist Don Martin Steps Out! Cover Preliminary Original Art (Warner Books, 1975). Don Martin makes a break for it, fleeing the madcap madhouse of MAD itself, and loses his pants! His wonderfully warped style is on full display in this preliminary sketch for the paperback collection of his classic gags. Nearly identical to the final cover, Martin swapped out the door snagging his trousers for a lady yanking them off instead... because, well, that's MAD. Rendered in graphite and watercolor highlights on art paper with a visible image area of 8" x 10.25", matted and glass-front framed to 11.75" x 14.25".
