DescriptionDick Giordano Green Lantern #141 Unpublished Cover Original Art (DC, 1981). This great unused cover features Hal Jordan swooping down to save Carol Ferris from an over zealous local sheriff. There had to be a last minute story change, as the George Perez cover actually used on the issue features the first appearance of the Omega Men. The story was set in Canada and that cop doesn't look very Canadian; also, no mention of the Omega Men. Don't overlook the nice little Adam Strange flying along atop the logo. He was appearing in a backup story. The logo and DC bullet are on a separate paper overlay. This cover is ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". In Excellent condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.View More Testimonials
