Description

Denys Cowan and Bob Smith - Original Cover Art for Star Trek #22 (DC, 1986). A disembodied force of evil, known as Redjac (aka Jack the Ripper), returns to spread fear and murder aboard Excelsior, and to take revenge on Captain Kirk. Lured to a planet whose inhabitants worship Redjac, Kirk and his landing party discover that Redjac inhabits one of their own. Tony Isabella scripted the story, "Wolf in the Fold," and this cover, penciled by Denys Cowan, and inked by Bob Smith, is a killer! Cowan creates a perfectly menacing image of Captain Kirk, Uhura, Sulu and "Bones" McCoy being harassed by Redjac. The overall size is 11" x 17", with a 10" x 15" image area. The work has some slight overall aging, and a small stain around a missing indicia paste-up at the top right. The original type balloon paste-ups are still intact, although the original logo paste-up is missing.
