Description
David Marquez Batman: Killing Time #1 Cover Original Art (DC, 2022). Gotham has no shortage of dastardly rogues, and four of them feature alongside Batman on this cover for the first issue of a six-part miniseries. The compelling composition echoes classic spy thriller movie posters in the style of James Bond -- complete with a dominant central hero, a femme fatale (Catwoman), a cast of villains (Riddler, Killer Croc, and Penguin), and a requisite sports car, with a looming bank vault as the perfect finishing touch. During the coloring process, the background was filled in completely black, and many of the character tones were deliberately darkened to emphasize dramatic shadows, making this piece of original art the only place where the impressive and intricate inking details can be fully appreciated. Rendered in ink and marker over printed line on 11" x 17" Bristol board. Light smudging and whiteout touch-ups. Signed in white inside the image area.
