Description

Dave Sim Cerebus #39 Moon Roach Cover Original Art (Aardvark-Vanaheim, 1982). Dirty Drew and Dirty Fleagle each take a foot-to-the-face for Justice! The Moon Roach was the third persona adopted by this Bedouin merchant (whose name was never revealed). And Moon Roach was likely the most popular incarnation that "the Bug" ever had. There were at least 10 of them, most of them a parody of some specific comic character. First he was The Cockroach (Batman), then Captain Cockroach (Captain America), followed by Moon Roach (Moon Knight), "Kevitch" (a reference to Moon Knight writer/artist Bill Sienkiewicz), Sgt. Preston of the Northern Lestan Mounted Police, Priest Roach (?), Wolveroach (Wolverine), Secret Sacred Wars Roach (Spider-Man/Black Costume), Normalroach (Normal Man... look it up), Punisheroach (The Punisher), and even Swoon (the Sandman). That's a whole lot of crazy!
Created in ink over graphite on illustration board with an image area of 10.5" x 14". Signed in the bottom image area, and personalized and signed just below it. Slight toning/wear along the edges, with faint soiling on the left side. Tape along the back edges. Otherwise, in Excellent condition.
