Dave Johnson The Machine #5 Unpublished Cover Original Art (Dark Horse, 1995). Cancelled with issue four, this piece shows where The Machine might have headed in its unpublished fifth issue -- or at the very least, delivers a violently cool battle scene, even if plot details are indiscernible. Created as part of Dark Horse's Comics' Greatest World imprint, an ambitious attempt to build a shared superhero universe to rival Marvel and DC, the page is rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 9.75" x 12.5".
