Description

Dave Gibbons Watchmen #8 "Statuette of Nite Owl I" Cover Original Art (DC, 1987). "On Hallowe'en the old ghosts come about us, and they speak to some; to others they are dumb." -- "Hallowe'en" by Eleanor Farjeon. The shocking murder of Hollis Mason, Nite Owl I, is the seminal event of this chapter, with the statuette cruelly being used to strike the killing blow. This ironic symbol of the superheroes' long fall from grace sets the stage for the eighth Watchmen chapter, "Old Ghosts." This DC masterwork has an image area of 10" x 15", and the art is in Excellent condition. From the Shamus Modern Masterworks Collection.
