DescriptionDave Cockrum and Joe Rubinstein Captain Marvel #58 Cover Drax the Destroyer Original Art (Marvel, 1978). While Cockrum is sometimes credited for only layouts/pencil roughs on this cover as opposed to full pencils, that's questionable in our minds since Cockrum was arguably the hottest artist at Marvel during this period -- but regardless of the exact extent of Cockrum's pencil rendering, the image certainly has the Cockrum look. This cover features "Marvel's Spaceborn Super-Hero" getting blasted by Drax the Destroyer. Drax was featured in the Guardians of the Galaxy film, and the Carol Danvers version of Captain Marvel will be getting her own movie soon. This piece of art is created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 9.75" x 15". The page is tanned, with some production oil stains. The logo and corner box are all stat paste-ups. Some have discolored slightly and there is a bit of glue residue from paste-up. Overall the cover is in Very Good condition.
