DescriptionDave Cockrum and Bob McLeod Thor #284 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1979). Comic book mythologies clash under the deft pencil of Dave Cockrum and the clean line of Bob McLeod's inks. Thor, Norse god of Thunder, faces Ajax of the Eternals and Ereshkigal of the Deviants on this cover. Although Jack Kirby created the Eternals and Deviants, this was Ereshkigal's first appearance and she was created by Roy Thomas and John Buscema. This cover is produced in ink over graphite on Sparta World Color Bristol board with an image area of 9.75" x 15". It is signed by Dave Cockrum in the bottom margin. The logo, corner box, word balloon, and caption box are all stat paste-up. There is a touch of glue residue in these areas, and in the center of the image area, along with a bit of handling wear around the edges. The board is lightly tanned. In Very Good condition.
