Description
Darick Robertson New Warriors #2 Variant Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1999). Before co-creating a scowling super-team of his own with The Boys, Darick Robertson crafted this mostly moody variant cover (what, you didn't expect Speedball not to smile?) for the second issue of the second volume of New Warriors. Early hints of The Boys can be seen in this piece, both in tone and composition. In fact, we think the layout closely resembles the cover of The Art of The Boys: The Complete Covers by Darick Robertson (later reused as the cover for the title's sixth omnibus). Whether intentional or not, it reads as a visual homage to this earlier image. Also featuring Nova (Richard Rider), Namorita, Turbo, Bolt, and Aegis. Rendered in ink over blue pencil on Marvel Comics Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15.25". Corner and edge wear. Signed and in Excellent condition.More information about Darick Robertson.
