    Description

    Dan Morton Nickel Library Series "Crime SuspenStories Cover" Original Art (San Francisco Comic Book Co., c. 1970). A modern take of the classic EC Comics title, done for Gary Arlington's Nickel Library series and possibly unpublished. Arlington had planned to do a complete series of updated EC covers like this, until William Gaines asked him to stop, and destroy all printed copies and art. Fortunately for us, Gary couldn't bear to trash the art, which was locked away until his recent passing. This cover, in ink, graphite, and shading film on Bristol board, has an approximate image area of 10.75" x 16", and is in Excellent condition. From the Gary Arlington Collection.
