Description

Dan Day and David Day Cases of Sherlock Holmes #6 Cover Painting and Preliminary Original Art Group of 3 (Renegade Press, 1987). This collaboration between brothers Dan and David Day graced the cover of the sixth issue of Dan Day's acclaimed adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's legendary Sherlock Holmes stories. Pipe in mouth and deep in thought, Holmes ponders the puzzle ahead while the ever-faithful Dr. Watson stands ready at his side, as the pair unravel "The Adventure of the Resident Patient". Created in acrylic with a matted image area of 12.25" x 18.75", glass-front framed to 19.5" x 26". The preliminary is rendered in graphite and blue pencil on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15", and exhibits slight toning, staining, pinholes, uneven edges, and handling wear. The painting is signed and dated by the artists on the lower left edge of the image area, and the prelim is signed and dated by Dan Day in the lower left image area. The painting presents in Excellent condition, and the prelim is in Very Good condition. Comes with a copy of the published comic.
