Description

Daan Jippes Mickey Mouse #226 Cover Original Art (Gladstone, 1987). When a plummeting plane comes equipped with its own backup parachute, even Mickey Mouse can greet a crash with a grin. This charming, if only mildly harrowing, cover pairs Mickey with Minnie, all brought to life by the Dutch cartoonist famed for his near-perfect Carl Barks touch. His work defined the look of many Gladstone Disney covers through the '80s and '90s, giving fans fresh art that felt straight out of the classic era. Ink over blue pencil on Bristol board with a matted image area of 10.25" x 15", glass-front framed to 24" x 20.25". A copy of the published comic is matted beside the art. The art exhibits slight toning, whiteout corrections, and minor smudging. Signed by Jippes in the top right image area. Presents in Excellent condition.
