DescriptionCurt Swan and Murphy Anderson - Superman #228 Cover Original Art (DC, 1970). Hey -- here's a Superman cover near and dear to our hearts here at Heritage, since it features an auction of rare collectibles! That's right, ladies and gentlemen, having already been stripped of his powers and his uniform, Superman must look on helplessly as his costume is offered up to the bidding public. Once that's done, the ex-Man of Steel will be rocketed off to the Execution Planet! This classic cover hook (a staple of the Julie Schwartz era) is rendered by the dream-team of Curt Swan and Murphy Anderson, and features these long-time collaborators at the height of their super-powers. The art measures 11.5" x 16.5" and is in Very Good condition, with some slight moisture warping in the upper right quadrant. A Bronze Age classic, this is not to be missed! Also included in this lot is a VG copy of the published comic.
