DescriptionBob Fujitani - Front Page Comic Book #1 Cover Original Art (Harvey, 1945). Offered here is a true piece of horror-history: one of the earliest supernatural/horror comic book covers art known to exist, from the one-shot Front Page Comic Book published by Harvey in 1945. This spooky scene spotlights a ghastly ghost rising from the grave to dispatch the petty thief that would steal her jewelry box. Bob Fujitani's expressive linework was always a treat, and looking at this chilling cover, it's easy to imagine his intricate feathering being an influence on horror-meister Bernie Wrightson. It's not always the case that a historic piece is also a top-notch work of art, but this cover certainly fits the bill -- it's a all-around winner! The image area of the art measures 14.25" x 21" and the art is in Very Good condition with a tiny chip out of the lower right corner and small tear in the lower margin. The title logo is a recent recreation.
