Bob Clarke MAD Cover Painting Original Art Group of 2 (EC, 1969). Bob Clarke's art has been classing-up the dumb jokes in this magazine for years. So you can just chalk it up to good thinking that they assigned him this cover for homework. It is crafted in two parts. The first is a nice head shot of Alfred E. Neuman produced in black pastel on paper with an image area of approximately 5.5" x 5.5". It was then printed in green on a black background for the cover. The second, larger piece, features the full mechanical print used to produce the cover, placed inside a framing piece that features some more of Bob Clarke's original art on the bottom edge in the form of the chalkboard rail, and erasers. He signed in the lower right as "BC". This composite piece has a matted image area of 11.75" x 16". It is Plexiglas front framed to 19" x 23.5". The headshot is in a matching mat and Plexiglas front frame that measures 14" x 14". They are in Excellent condition. Bid on this and go to the head of the class.Auction Info
