Description

Bob Brown and Mike Esposito (attributed) Challengers of the Unknown #63 Cover Original Art (DC, 1968). The Challs take on the "Legion of the Weird" in the story "None Shall Escape the Walking Evil" that would ultimately cost Red and his brother Tino each an eye! Red would wear an eye patch from this issue until the beginning of Issue #72. This cover was created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The DC bullet, logo, CCA stamp, and all cover text are stat paste-ups. The figures of Red and Rocky are stat paste-ups. There are some whiteout art corrections. The mummy's head is an original art paste-up. The top of the board has water damage, with stains and warping. This cover comes with the one-sided cover color proof, which is also water damaged and stained in the top margin. These are in Good condition.
