Description

Bob Brown and Fred Ray Tomahawk #16 Cover Original Art (DC, 1953). The cover pitches the anchor story for the issue, "The Riddle of the Fort Mystery!" An exciting cover image created by Bob Brown, with an original art paste-up by Fred Ray for Tomahawk's head and shoulder (Ray had drawn the character since his earlier appearances in Star Spangled Comics). The page was created twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 11.75" x 17.75". The logo, DC bullets, and issue info are stat paste-ups. The price paste-up is missing. The header banner is a hand-lettered paste-up. The top part of the "T" and the Tomahawk art on the logo stat are an original art replacement. Matted to 16.5" x 22.25". In Excellent condition.
