DescriptionBill Everett Strange Tales #152 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1967). By the Vishanti! A twice-up Bill Everett Silver Age original cover? Marvel Silver Age twice-up covers are hard enough to find, but Bill Everett original twice-ups are practically non-existent! Also, Everett only fully rendered a handful of covers for Marvel in the 1960s... and this is one of them! This issue: Umar has summoned Doctor Strange to the Dark Dimension, not to kill him but to make amends for her brother's deeds. For even though she is trapped in a human form, she is the sister of the dread Dormammu. She sends Strange to battle the Mindless Ones to save his love, Clea. This issue was the last Doctor Strange episode by Bill Everett, as he took over Sub-Mariner (a character he created) this same month. This cover is oversized and really showcases Everett's art on Umar very well. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13.5" x 20.5". The top logo, corner box, and lower caption are paste-up mechanicals. Some corner and edge wear, overall tanning. Overall an amazing cover in Excellent condition. From the Bill Everett Family Collection.
