DescriptionBill DuBay More Next Issue Cover Design Original Art (c. 1970s). DuBay, a cartoonist better known for his editorship of the Warren horror comics (Creepy etc.), developed this elaborate montage of panels as, evidently, a proposed rear cover. The intended publication is undocumented. A note on reverse in the artist's hand appears to address an editor: "This isn't anything in particular! You don't have to use it." Ink and Zipatone (various shadings) over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 8" x 13". Moderate toning. One horizontal patched area at center. Excellent condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.View More Testimonials
