Description

Bernie Wrightson Twisted Tales #2 Cover Original Art (Pacific Comics, 1983). Upstart independent publisher Pacific Comics featured some of the best covers of the early eighties. Here's one of the very best -- a Twisted Tales cover that rivals anything EC published during their magnificent heyday! Master of the Macabre, Bernie Wrightson, proved himself a modern-day Graham Ingels with this "ghastly" image of a backwoods headhunter (with the occasional foot or hand)... his bloody ax ready to do more harm. Wow, it's a real stunner! The art is in ink over graphite on illustration board, with an approximate image area of 15" x 17.5", and includes a mock-up masthead (which was changed for the actual printed cover, expanding the art slightly); both the art and masthead are mounted to a backing board. There are a couple of small corner dings; however, the art is in Excellent condition. The art is signed, and dated 1982.
