    Description

Bernie Wrightson - Original Unused Cover Art Rough to Batman: The Cult #1 (DC, 1988). Bernie Wrightson has been considered the premiere horror artist in the comic field since the early 1970's. His work on the Batman: The Cult mini series brought a truly dark element to the character that his peers never quite attained. Even though this isn't the highly detailed image that Wrightson is world famous for, it still possesses the foreboding quality of his finished piece. And, if you look at the final cover image, you'll find that Batman has been largely cropped off. So, this remains a unique work of art that any Wrightson fan would be proud to own. This very clean piece is in outstanding condition. The 12"x17.75" image has been matted on a 20"x27" piece of foam board and is signed at the bottom left corner.
