Bernie Wrightson Chamber of Darkness #7 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1970). This was the Master of the Macabre's first Marvel work. Wrightson only produced about 10 covers or stories for Marvel prior to the 1980s, and this issue was a rare case of him doing both cover and interior story. The work was rendered in ink over graphite on World Color cover Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The board has been mounted to a same-size backing Bristol board. The art board has abrasions, creases and production tape in the top margin. The corner box, logo, and cover text are all stat paste-ups. There is a missing paste-up just under the corner box that has left glue residue in the image area. Signed and dated by Wrightson in the lower left over some whiteout art correction. In Very Good condition.
